About Me

I started Pilates in my early 40s (I've now hit the next decade!)

I'd suffered from long term lower back pain for many years, which was getting worse over time and at times could hardly move or walk upright without a lot of discomfort.  After a visit to a physiotherapist they suggested I try Pilates - so I did!

Although I found it a little difficult to start with (it can be harder than it looks and I didn't realise just how unfit, stiff and unflexible I really was) I kept at it and really started to enjoy attending classes and seeing/feeling the improvement within myself.

Over the years my own strength and flexibility grew and there was a vast improvement with my back problems.  So I decided I wanted to teach Pilates and help other people in class in the same way it had helped me.

I studied with Elite Pilates & Yoga Teacher Training and gained my qualification - YMCA Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates - in December 2020 (in between several lockdowns!)

So whether you are a completely inflexible, achey, stiff novice like I was or someone who's already active/sporty and wants to improve their overall performance - Pilates can help you too!

Janine :)
