Better Movement Pilates

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a low impact range of exercises (so no running, jumping or leaping about!) which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength and helps to improve posture, balance and flexibility.

Some of the benefits of Pilates inculde;

Better balance

Reduced injury risk (through improving strength and flexibility of joints)

Increased strength

Enhanced core stability

Improved flexibility

Increased mental fitness (working on breathing, concentration and co-ordination)

and greater stamina

I run classes within the community in various halls in Plymouth and Princetown.

My classes are small, friendly and relaxed - I want everyone who comes along to feel welcome and comfortable, so they're ideal if you're nervous about starting a new class.

Just about anyone can try Pilates no matter what age, shape, size, ability or fitness level you have - you don't have to be fit and flexible to come along to a class and have a go!

Everybody's body is different, so in class you just work within your own range of movement at the level you feel comfortable with.  I give modifications/adaptations for all the exercises so you can progress at your own pace - there is no pressure to perform!
